Lowest Cost of Ownership in the Industry

The majority of 4Xxtreme’s enclosure benefits help reduce our customers’ cost of ownership during the life of the equipment.

Patented – Double Seal Technology

Our double seal technology has the ability to withstand harsher environments!

How our technology works:

  • Outer Seal rejects 99.9999% of water.
  • Any Water that does get by the outer seal is just a dribble, so no water pressure ever gets put on the inner seal.
  • Any water that does get past the outer seal falls down into the bottom of the door and goes out the weep holes, so we never build water up between the two seals.

Field Replaceable Blue EPDM Gasket System

We have an easy-to-install field replaceable” Push On” style gasket system. So easy to put on that we tell our customers an eleven-year-old can replace our gasket system. Our EPDM material is very chemical resistant and can continuously handle high temperatures of 250⁰F (121⁰C). Because we offer our gasket material in the color “Blue” our gaskets are considered “Foreign Material Detectable”.

Most of the enclosure manufacturers went to a “Foam in Place” or “Pour in Place” gasket system, which is put on the door by a machine. This is the least expensive gasket system an enclosure manufacturer can use! However in the end, it ends up being the most expensive type gasket system for their customers, because the life of the gasket is based upon the environmental conditions that the enclosure is in. The harsher the environment, the faster the gaskets start to crack, absorb water and fall off. The only way to replace the gasket in the field and still maintain the UL rating of the electrical enclosure is to replace the entire door. Typically they charge 50% of the cost of the entire enclosure.

Single Hygienic Quarter Turn Door Design for Every Enclosure We Manufacture

The largest cause for water in electrical enclosures today is people do not close all the Quarter Turns (closing Points) on the enclosure. So we made a simple change to our already robust design, so we take more responsibility to ensure the enclosure is closed properly by having one closing point per enclosure door.

  • By keeping our enclosures dryer, this simple but very effective design change:
  • Reduces premature electrical failures
  • Increases plant production
  • Increases plant revenue
  • Reduces overall cost of equipment ownership!

Our competition makes their enclosures cheaper, requiring thinner materials and less labor but more Quarter turns to keep the door sealed properly!

For example, the largest IP69K door we have made, which is 80″High x 36″ Wide, required only (1) Hygienic Quarter turn or closing point.
Our competition’s 48″ High x  36″ Wide door requires (7) Quarter turns to maintain the same washdown IP69K rating.

Patented – Double Stud Mounting System

Our double stud mounting system:

  • Eliminates gaskets – which prevents water from getting into the enclosure after the gasket system fails.
  • Simplifies the installation by reducing the overall labor required to install the enclosure.
  • Our welded Double Stud is designed for easy mounting. It allows us to mount the enclosure from the outside, as well as the back panel on the inside of the enclosure.

Hygienic – Ultra Clean Free Draining Design

All of our outer surfaces are pitched, so the entire enclosure is free draining from the outside. The overall cleanability of our enclosures is a top priority for the majority of our customers. Doing our part in designing and manufacturing hygienic enclosures reduces the overall contamination points in our customer’s facilities, which reduces the potential for contamination in the product and reduces the plant’s cost of ownership for their equipment.
