The 4Xxtreme Custom Enclosure Design Process

1. Concept & Consultation

The process begins with your specific requirements. You do not need a finalized blueprint to start; we can work with anything from a rough sketch to a full specification list.

Input: 4Xxtreme accepts complete CAD drawings or just a rough concept of what you need.
Base Models: We often start with one of our “Super Models” (core structural designs) and customize outward from there to save time and ensure structural integrity.

2. Engineering & 3D Modeling (1-2 Days)

Once we have your requirements, our engineering team uses SolidWorks to create a precise 3D model of your custom enclosure.

Customization: This is where we adjust dimensions (Height/Width/Depth), select one of our enclosure top configurations (e.g., Slope Back, Bullnose, Slope Forward), and add specific cutouts.
Simulation: We may run simulations to ensure the design meets IP69K and Type 4X washdown standards.
No Extra Charge for Cutouts: Unlike many competitors, 4Xxtreme typically includes custom cutouts (for HMIs, buttons, or conduit) without additional fees.

3. Quoting (1-2 Days)

Because our engineering and quoting systems are tightly integrated, we turn around a firm quote very fast—usually within 24 to 48 hours of the request.

4. Precision Fabrication (4-5 Weeks)

Once you approve the design, it moves to manufacturing. Our shop floor utilizes advanced automation to maintain speed and precision:

Laser Cutting: We use Bystronic Lasers to cut the stainless steel to exact tolerances.
Bending: Bystronic CNC Press Brakes are used to fold the steel to specification.
Welding: All seams are continuously welded and ground smooth to eliminate bacteria-harbor points.
Finishing: The enclosure is finished (often electropolished or powder-coated if requested) and fitted with our patented double seal Blue Silicone or EPDM gaskets.

5. Shipping & Delivery

The total lead time from order to shipping is typically 4 to 5 weeks, which is significantly faster than the industry standard for custom fabrication (which can often take 8-12 weeks).
