(PSE) develops and manufactures stainless liquid process systems for the food, dairy, and meat industry and has 28 years of experience within these industries. We currently serve Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota with projects that require stainless food-grade construction installation work. Since we are a small, fast-growing company, there will be additional opportunities to grow into other positions, which include Construction Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineer, etc. Position Summary This is a full-time Construction Welder/Fitter position for fabricating and installation of food-grade equipment and process piping. The Welder/Fitter will weld, cut, and play a critical part in the successful installation of process equipment and sanitary piping. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Plans and coordinates with Supervisor/Manager details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting and welding techniques and equipment. Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Interact with coworkers to effectively complete tasks. Participate in project team meetings on an as-needed basis. Report all accidents and important incidents to the Supervisor/Manager. Adhere to safety procedures and company safety policies to avoid injuries, illnesses, and incidents. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding, including designs, uses, maintenance and repair. Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints. Ability to set up and use a tig welder without help. Ability to cut, weld, grind, and polish with minimal supervision. Blueprint reading and interpretation. Safety oriented. Purge welding. Strong organizational skills. Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms. Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments. Prioritize quality over quantity and take pride in your work. Deadline driven. Physical Requirements: Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead. Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
