Position Summary

The welder will cut, weld, and polish stainless steel enclosures per blueprint utilizing a tig welder and hand polishing grinders. This is a full-time position that requires working at least 40 hours/week from Monday through Thursday.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Able to work in a safe manner with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Plans details of work order procedures and gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
  • Prepares materials, fit, and weld per blueprints provided.
  • Grind & polish welds as shown on blueprints.
  • Monitors the welding process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience

  • Thorough understanding of welders & grinders used in the production of enclosures.
  • Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as it relates to welding assignments.
  • Self-motivated and able to recognize next steps in projects. 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • 3 years of welding and polishing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.

  • None.
